My good friend, Vyrl Pember, who owns Church Financial Development, completed approximately 36 months ago a very successful stewardship campaign with us at First United Methodist. This is a building program for a Youth and Family Center of 75,000 square feet. We have received pledges and gifts for a total of eight million dollars for building and land. At the conclusion of the third year on a four years program we are ahead with less than 20% of the funds yet to collect. It increased our giving for construction from just under one million annually to over two million annually in actual receipts.

Vyrl Pember has been excellent. He tailored the program to fit our church but kept all the essential components to accomplish our goal.

Vyrl knows the scripture and exegetes it faithfully and effectively. He presents it with a warm heart and an anointed spirit. He is an excellent preacher, an effective motivational speaker, a superb group trainer and project manager. His instructions to committees were clear, creative, and tireless. When we needed additional help, Vyrl was here with just what we needed. He is truly an encourager. Every person who served felt that Vyrl loved them, and their task was a ministry offered as a glad expression of their Christian discipleship.

Vyrl is personable, socially sensitive, and a vibrant witness to Christ and Christian stewardship. Vyrl practices what he teaches with absolutely excellent "taste."

Vyrl held my hands up! He showed deference for me in every setting. He encouraged me in the whole process beyond all other support persons.

Vyrl follows up. He is still working with us as we walk out the way we have chosen. He offers superb counsel on how to keep the membership motivated and giving what they have pledged.

The spirit in our church of joy, love, and expectancy is higher in the midst of this campaign than even when we began. We give warm and genuine thanks to God. What a servant He has in Vyrl Pember.
