It is my pleasure to recommend Vyrl Pember, who is President of Church Financial Development. It has been my opportunity to work closely with Vyrl in two major fundraisers in the city of Tulsa - (I)First United Methodist Church as a lay member and committee chairperson and (2) as Headmaster of Metro Christian Academy, a State and North Central accredited college preparatory Christian school serving Pre-Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade students.
As Consultant to the capital fund drive for First United Methodist Church, Mr. Pember was successful in putting together teams of lay people from the church and organizing their efforts to raise over $8 million for the building of a new youth and activities center, and this center was completed debt free and as planned. Similarly, in approximately one year, through the expert leadership of Vyrl, and the involvement of a team of over 150 parents, staff, and friends, Metro Christian Academy was able to raise its goal of over $5 million to purchase the facility and grounds which it had leased since its inception. The campaign started in December, 1995; and the building was purchased in January, 1997.
Mr. Pember is a very successful professional with tremendous experience and insights in coordinating capital fund drives for schools and churches. The key to the success of his campaigns is the organization, training, and involvement of a multi-faceted leadership team. His ability to focus the team members spiritually and to inspire them to stewardship are great assets.
In summary, it is without reservation I recommend Mr. Pember for your consideration. He and his wife are parents of two outstanding boys who attend Metro Christian Academy, and it has been my opportunity to work closely with him in many different capacities.
